I Heart California
Hmmm, is there something wrong with this picture?

Yes! Definitely, it has been forecasted to rain, to snow, to be overcast, damp and cloudy but everytime the Sun has come out to say "Ha ah" Several days in a row! Last weekend it did do a number on us it rained something fierce but the California is the opposite of Washington: Washington you enjoy the sun knowing the rain will be back tomorrow, and in California you enjoy the rain knowing the sun will be back tomorrow. Last Sunday, it was forcasted to snow, yes, snow in Fresno. This almost never happens unless you live in the mountains, so stump that myth now. California does get snow quite frequently just not in the cities usually. I've been thinking about braving it up North at Yosemite National Park just so that Hayden can play in the snow but is it worth the chains I would have to put on my tires, Me not so sure yet. There always next year. It has been a hot week with no complaints, I love the feel of sun on my skin after experiencing Winter, it is the best feeling. I first got this feeling when I was pregnant and winter was my enemy. It was toasty enough for SHORTS! I actually got to wear...wait for it...
Short sleeves, a skirt with tights and flip flops outside. I LOVE YOU FRESNO, Ca. I want to hug you.

So I decided that Hayden would love to get outside, so I asked he jumped up and down fiercely, running to the laundry room where I keep his squirt bottle. Lately he has been on a squirt bottle kick. After several indicidents where he either climbed incredibly high feats or snuck into "No-No" cabinets in order to obtain a spray bottle, I dumbed one of my bottles for vinegar and water, rinsed, and refilled with plain old H2O. He's been seriously naughty with it, spraying everything in sight.

We ventured onto our patio for a while with me snapping pictures the entire time until he sprayed my precious DLSR with water. Then it was game over. I prepared some food and he ate (he is really starting to be picky and a pecker with his food he is seriously living off of whole grain crackers because he won't touch any bread, eggs, yogurt, fruit, milk, lunch meat and cheese), dinner he will finish off in no time just not during the day will he stop to eat.

After we went inside Hayden got antsy so I decided to take an idea from Jess @ IROCKSOWHAT and lock him in our tennis courts to play. It was such a wonderful, I actually played ball with him and ran around. SOOO very fun.
I am thinking of going on some adventures to Selma Layne Park...

Catching the Green Monster
I'm on the computer editing some pictures when I notice...
Silence...
Every Mommy knows silence is never golden
I called Hayden and he ran into my room, mouth wide, bearing his pearly whites, with this on his hand.....

My heart dropped, I jumped up, running into his room to inspect the damage

He got green on everything

He presented it so proudly I couldn't even be mad

I told him paper, pointing to the paper that was on his desk
his response "ooo, oh man. " Grrr.
I set to work cleaning and he came over

"I sorry"

My heart grew 2x man "I'm sorry" I told him it was okay and gave him a baby wipe when he insisted on helping

I love him so much it is ridiculous and my oh my are we growing and changing

Rooms are made for cleaning, and that's just what I'll do
Hayden's birthday is fast approaching (in only 3 months now) but I am having it way early around the end of April- beginning of May to accommodate his Great Grandma coming to visit. This will be her first time meeting Hayden and I am so excited that I wanted her here to experience his b-day. Meaning I have even less time to book a location, plan a party, do invites, and much more when I am already swarmed with responsibilities. (Adding more to the ever growing to do list). One of the many things I have been meaning to do is go into Hayden's overstocked room and toss some of his toys. This child of mine has so many toys it is crazy, he just about plays with only a quarter of them and to think he will be getting them by the truck load come his birthday, they really needed to be thrown.
I buckled down and told myself:
Subconcious :"Mia, this will be the last week with Hayden's room having so many unused toys. "
Mia: "But I'm tired..."
"SO! I'm tired of his room being overcrowded with toys that you can donate!"
"But some are from infancy, maybe I will have another kid that can play with them."
"AH! When you go back to school for a career then we will talk other kids, but for now we can't carry all these toys. Now TOSS!!"
"But-"
"No buts, only work and results. Now 'git.' "
*sigh*
And David and I tackled the forest that is Hayden's room.
Prior to our early spring cleaning, Hayden's room had been thrashed. I'm talking hurricane status. The how and why I'm not exactly sure but it was horrible.

See this messy room
Hayden is used to getting his room cleaned as he helps Daddy clean it every night before bed. And I totally LOVE this age, hehe. We told him we were "cleaning" his room in case he threw a fit from h#!L to save his toys. But he was cool about it. He took to "cleaning" very well helping put some toys in my donation bag (a bag trash bag), helping Daddy organize the room that Mommy wrecked even more, and putting his trash in the trash. It was very fun for him...

He played with some of his untouched toys

He Climbed like crazy, whether it was onto his stepping stool to just to jump off again or from his stool to his buzz ride on and back up again (he made a really fun (for him) but scary (for mommy) game out of this.
Out of like thirty minutes of cleaning, tossing away toys (it is amazing how many toys a child can get from infancy to their 2nd year), reorganizing, and straightening up we did it - we did it- we did it!

A clean room! That is not as crowded
Now for his closet...
A Mother's work is never done, but I can put it off until at least next week, can't I? And God help me once I get the courage and strength to redo my room, probably around Easter if I can put it off that long.

Alert! OMG
Headaches, nausea, sleeping all day, hungry all the time...OMG...I just realized that I could be having babino #2, sooner than expected.
I don't know if I'm with child at least not yet...
That would involve pregnancy tests and I am so not ready to go there.
but I do know that...
Hayden is changing in many ways that make my head spin. I really have to at least try to keep up. And one of the changes I'm beginning to notice is his fascination with cars and trucks are dwindling and his love for building is well...building. His mega blocks are not a toy that is littering my living room daily, his mega block dump truck is what has been crashing into my leg unexpectedly, and his soft blocks are what he rips his toy box apart for.
He can still be found zooming cars about on my couches or removing Me from said couch so that he can race his cars. Actually he is behind me right now making zooming sounds, singing softly as he races his cars around my unmade bed.
In this house Mega Blocks rule!
In other news, my entire house has been sick with one thing or another. First Hayden got the sniffles, which turned into an infection. While we set to work fighting that with antibiotics, his cold relapsed with a nasty cough that started choking him at night. EEEK! Between taking care of him, pumping him with his inhaler at night to help him breathe, David got struck with a sore throat. That left Mommy to take care of her boys only thing that soon backfired. I got sick mildly with a common cold, Yay, (yeah, right). That caused my insomniac ways to catch up on me, I slept and slept and slept. Or should I say I wanted to sleep. Toddlers don't exactly always allow that to happen. I would get up to care for Hayden then I would be down away as soon as I could; usually when David got home.
This went on until today (oh I did sleep today LOTS because the toddler was a very sleepy little guy) but today I was determined to get something done. My house was in shambles. So I took pain meds for the headache that seemed to haunt me and an hour later, it kicked in enough for me clean a little. But poor David, I was a mega B* all day. I ranted, I raved, I slept, I ranted and I raved. But I do have a good defense my head felt like a log that a woodsman hit with an axe, and I decided that sleep was so important that I didn't need to eat until my stomach was screaming "FOOD, woman, FOOD."
Later I totally filled up with water, that did help too eventually. I snuggled up with David as an "I"m sorry" for all of 0.0 seconds before Hayden woke up from his nap so I decided that we all could snuggle together.

What's up Doc
Okay it's only two minutes until midnight so why I am up? Well over the Holidays Hayden started the sniffles, nothing to major, but by December 30th, he was hacking something awful. I gave him his inhaler (Hayden has a slight case of asthma) and that took care of it for the most part, especially at night when he was breathing and hacking so hard David and I heard him in our room. On Friday he started the bed theatics, he refused to not only go to bed, but to stay in his bed or go to sleep. For the last few nights, we have tried to keep him on scheldule and keep to him sleeping in his bed, in his room, but boy, oh, boy is it hard. A few nights he would finally go to sleep even if it was a little later than his bedtime of nine P.M. but he would wake spratically and stay up as if it is daytime. For two nights, I bite the bullet and put him to bed (David usually puts him to sleep now) by telling him that I was laying down in the bed with him. And now his nose is like a dripping faucet, the coughing is gone, and worst of all he won't even go to bed AT ALL without screaming as if the world is ending. So we are up,sticking it out yet we are at the end of our tier. I don't what to do when it comes to sleeping with this kid everything was fine, then this I want to say it's because he is sick but he may be entering the terrible two's early. He's been irritable, whining and crying if anything doesn't go his way, time-out is the main discipline method we use and he spends so much more time in there I'm not sure it is working. I am super tired and need to get up early tomorrow, but Hayden is miserible and can't sleep...I don't know what is wrong with him...maybe another trip to the doctor is in order, I really don't want to go but maybe I have to. only thing is I thought sick kids were supposed to be low in energy and sleepy. Hayden is so energetic, I decided to play
with him to tire him out.

Really...

My Son would put Seattle to shame...

The Toddler That Never Sleeps

After a measly cat nap he awoke refreshed

And ready to inflict mayhem onto his drowsy parents

Luckily Daddy was energized enough to take him outside to burn off some of that energy while I got some housework done
It's a shame how much I love this kid
